Artist Biography
Dan Scollay

Dan Scollay has a background in music and the performing arts. She was a part of Judith Clingan's Gaudeamus in Canberra for many years and toured both nationally and internationally as a choir member and soloist.
She graduated from the John Bolton Theatre School in 1996. In 2001 she performed her solo show My Brother the Fish (directed by John Bolton) which was nominated for three greenroom awards, winning two for best fringe production and best direction.
Since 2001 she has worked as a community singing leader, facilitating groups from neighbourhood houses, nursing homes and workplaces. She has also worked with people with chronic respiratory disease, women's choirs and the Melbourne based choir, Sing Sing.
In 2005/6 Dan worked with Community Music Victoria as a community singing catalyst and was a co-facilitator and workshop leader for CMV's singing leaders' resource weekend at Bacchus Marsh. In that year Dan was also a member of the Community Music Victoria board. Having lived and worked in Melbourne for the past twelve years Dan is now based on the NSW South Coast with her partner and two small boys. She has two choirs, one in Narooma and one in Cobargo, and recently co-facilitated (with Damon Davies) workshops in Moruya with 180 singers that culminated in a performance and the creation of the Deep River Choir.
